SCOTT BUEHLER is a principal Member of Guinness & Buehler, LLC.  His practice is focused in the areas of real estate, corporate law, commercial and civil litigation, municipal law and workers’ compensation. 

Mr. Buehler represents real estate developers involving commercial and residential developments.  These matters include the acquisition, sale and leasing of real property, engineering and environmental issues, obtaining State and local zoning and regulatory approval, road and utility issues, and litigating all disputes related thereto.  Mr. Buehler frequently meets with and makes presentations on behalf of his clients with the various State and local entities regarding proposed developments.  He also represents individuals regarding the sale of their residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.  

Mr. Buehler has extensive experience in the formation of new companies and providing advice on general business transactions.  He has represented many clients with the acquisition and sale of their business.  He frequently forms new businesses for clients, assists with  financing, drafts shareholder agreements, addresses employment issues, drafts contracts, and provides assistance with succession planning. 

Mr. Buehler devotes a substantial amount of his practice to various types of commercial and civil litigation.  He has litigated claims involving construction and design defects, foreclosures, bond claims, mechanic’s lien claims, fraud, OSHA violations, zoning matters, environmental disputes, tax disputes, title disputes, contract disputes, unfair competition claims, and a variety of torts.   

On behalf of his municipal clients, Mr. Buehler provides advice on ordinances, taxation, conduct of public meetings, planning and zoning, election issues, annexations, Sunshine Act requirements, condemnation, contracts, sale and leasing of real estate, as well as the other matters that many public entities face. 

Mr. Buehler has more than ten years experience in matters involving workers' compensation.  His primary focus is to represent injured workers.  However, in the past, he has represented hundreds of employers regarding claims filed by injured workers.  Mr. Buehler has extensive experience in representing clients in contested hearings where causation of injury, medical treatment, and extent of disability are at issue.

Mr. Buehler serves as an Officer and on the Board of Directors for United Services for the Handicapped in St. Charles County.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Endowment for United Services, a separate 501(c)(3) organization.  Mr. Buehler is a past Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County, where he served as legal counsel and as a Board Member.  In 2003, he was the recipient of the Habitat’s prestigious Golden Hammer Award.  He was also recognized with the Forty Professionals Under Forty achievement award in 2002.

Mr. Buehler received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1996 and is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois.
